Neftec has over 40 years of experience dedicated to Carbon/Carbon Composite research, development and manufacturing. Spanning over various industries that have allowed us to produce one of the most dynamic C/C Composites available today.
Our president and chief engineer at Neftec Corporation Mr Takao Nakagawa is the key driving force behind the short-fibre C/C composite developed and arguably he is one of the key driving forces to bring random-weave, short-fibre to market.
Mr Nakagawa original started working with C/C Composites in the early 1980s at Tokyo University. He moved into the oil and gas industry which led him to the the further development of random-weave, short-fibre C/C. His early short-fibre material was originally designed to be used as a friction material for Motorsport, preliminary clutch and braking applications which needed to working in a broad range of temperatures.
At the time the motorsport industry required a friction material that could be machined into complex shapes that would retain high inter-laminar strength and at the same time offer a low wear rate due to the exposure to high levels of friction. Another key benefit is C/C being exceptionally light. His short-fibre C/C made it’s debut in the Japanese Formula F3000 race series.
Neftec's short-fibre C/C Composite was then adapted for Heat-treatment and was in use by the late 1980s. A time when C/C Composites were rarely used for Heat-treatment applications. From here on, Mr Nakagawa continued to develop his short-fibre composites as being one of the ultimate materials for high-temperature industrial applications. Looking to reduce the costs, creating a stronger and robust material that could be adopted to more industries.
Neftec has built up an extensive portfolio of the highest quality C/C materials and products. Serving an even more extensive customer base, working together with the worlds most renowned companies from Aerospace, heat-treatment to Automotive.
